Rustic Cheese Bar

Our Rustic Cheese Bar is guaranteed to satisfy any cheese artisan lover – our cheeses are all locally sourced and homemade by our independent experts!

The most popular cheese bar includes ‘the king of English cheeses’, Stilton, Brie, Cornish Yarg, Rosary Goat’s Cheese from the New Forest, Tunworth, Hereford Hop Cheddar and the Gold Award-winning Barkham Blue.

The Cheese Bar is fully loaded with seasonal chutneys, grapes, figs, cranberries and crackers. We can make it bespoke to suit all individuals taste or requirements.

Our Cheeses

  • Stilton with figs & grapes

Stilton topped with fig and black grapes

Stilton – rightfully known as the ‘King of English Cheeses’ – is smooth and creamy with complex, with a slightly acidic flavour when young. As it matures so the texture becomes softer and creamier with a mellow flavour. It makes an excellent dessert cheese and very popular with fellow cheese lovers.

  • Cornish Yarg

    Cornish Yarg

Deliciously creamy under the rind and slightly crumbly in the core, Cornish Yarg boasts a young, fresh, slightly tangy taste. The cheese is made by hand in open vats. Wild nettle leaves are picked from neighbouring villages, after the cheese has been pressed and brined, the leaves are carefully brushed onto the cheese in a traditional pattern. They attract wonderful natural occurring moulds which help the cheese ripen. As the cheese ripens, these edible nettles pass on a delicate mushroomy taste. The final product has an attractive, lacy pattern of leaves in blue and green, giving the cheese a very unique appearance.

  • Rosary Goat's Cheese

    Rosary Goats Cheese
    The Rosary, Lanford, New Forest

A fresh, full fat pasteurised Goats Cheese, Rosary is clean, soft cheese with a smooth, delicate goat milk flavour,. Chris & Claire Moody have been making goat’s cheese for 18 years at their dairy in the small village of Lanford on the edge of the New Forest. The name Rosary is taken from their family home where Chris’ grandmother planted a picturesque rose garden.

  • Old Harry Chalke Valley Cheddar

Old Harry Chalke Valley Cheese – Dorset

A hard farmhouse cheddar type cheese with a natural rind. Matured for around 3-4 months, this cheese has a wonderful creamy texture and a lovely rich, almost nutty tang. The strength of taste is probably medium, with the depth of flavour coming more from the unpasterised milk and natural rind. Handmade by Chalke Valley Cheese.

  • Sharpham Brie

    Sharpham Brie

Topped with fresh cranberries , this is one for the cheese connoisseurs! The Sharpham Dairy is based on the Sharpham Estate on the banks of the River Dart, just south of Totnes in Devon. Their Sharpham Brie is a creamy, unpasteurised, soft ripened cheese which has been handmade in their creamery since 1980. Salt, starter cultures and vegetarian rennet are the only additions to fresh Jersey cow milk.

Cheese Wedding Cakes

In keeping with your rustic cheese and dessert bars, Happily Ever Afters also offers your very own wedding cake made of cheese!

For a different slant on the whole cake cutting ceremony, we can supply a stacked wedding cake made up of wheels of your favourite cheese. So, rather than the uber-confectionery of a traditional wedding cake, you can offer your guests a slice (or two) of creamy Brie or tangy Stilton, whilst still having a stunning centrepiece for your wedding.

These are proving very popular at a lot of modern weddings, and because they can be enjoyed throughout the evening, they also offer your guests a great way to grab a bite to eat throughout the reception.

Call us to discuss your requirements for a cheese wedding cake.
